A common call we get now is cutting and programming keys folks have bought online from one of various retailers. I have seen many of the keys and have had varying success with them. One common thing I can say is that they aren’t made as well as other OEM keys and remotes.
Materials used in the key blades are a much cheaper metal combination. Most the electronics are usually a cheaper version of the original. And lastly, the battery is usually cheap from being bought in bulk and sitting on a shelf for quite some time. The battery of course is a simple fix with a $2 battery however.
With all that being said, we are happy to help with the cutting and programming of these keys. Only thing we cannot provide is any type of warranty on these keys. If purchasing a key from me, I buy and provide a key I can stand behind and put a warranty on them of 1 full year.
The moral of this is mainly, sure, buy those keys if need be. Just don’t put alot of expectation behind them. For the most part, they will get you by for some time, just not long term.
